Illustration Friday - Sea (Stella)

UPDATE: Color Version done with watercolor dyes.

Here’s the unfinished B&W. Color coming soon!

So my inspiration for this week came to me from a song called “Stella was a diver and she was always down”. by the band Interpol. From their first album “Turn on the bright lights” (which is a pretty great album). Comments are welcome and always appreciated.

I agree; great song, great album and your Stella is pretty great too. Melancholy and intruiging, as she is suppose to be.
...also looking forward to seeing the colour version.

I've often found artistic inspiration in songs. I've thought a lot about illustrating songs from time to time, but somehow I never get around to it. You've done a great job here - and yes, great song, awesome album!
